YFS is committed to serving African Diasporan Institutions wherever they are found. By joining our movement, you are helping to ensure the survival and success of vital community institutions and organizations. You are also linking yourself to a network of diverse and progressive young adults internationally who support each other in their respective endeavors.

Becoming a YFS member not only allows you to support incredible institutions, it also gives you an amazing networking opportunity. There are different membership levels and different levels of involvement that are available to you. You can tailor your Young Friends experience to suit your interests and time schedule.

Levels of Involvement

Donor:
Donors are individuals or organizations who choose to support YFS financially by making a monetary contribution. Donors can choose to pay for a membership and have access to YFS benefits or simply make a monetary contribution.

Participant:
YFS participants become a member at one of our levels and have the choice to attend YFS programs and events and/or the events and programs of YFS Partner Institutions. Participants have access to all networking opportunities and members-only events. If your schedule is busy and/or you are interested in supporting institutions without having to make time commitments, this would be the ideal level of involvement for you.

Active:
Active YFS members participate in local chapter events, including attending monthly meetings, socializing events, and members-only activities. Active members also have the opportunity to serve in leadership positions in the Chapter, volunteer at one of our Partner Institutions, and plan YFS programming. This level of involvement is ideal for individuals who would like to increase their social activities and community involvement.
